Tired of having spots appear in your photos? Today my Visible Dust kit arrived in the mail. I bought the full kit with sensor loupe, sensor cleaning swabs, Arctic Butterfly, and cleaning solutions. After unpacking the kit and reading the instructions I pulled out the sensor loupe and inserted the batteries. The sensor loupe is really a compact magnifying glass with built-in light. What is cool about the loupe is that it really lets you see all the dust and debris lying on the camera's sensor.
The next step was to unpack a sensor cleaning swab. These swabs are not your normal Q-Tip cotton swab! After applying a couple drops of the sensor cleaning solution to the swab I gently wiped the swab over my camera's sensor. After repeating the process a few times I was able to get my sensor pretty clean. Unfortunately it was getting too dark outside to take a test shot to see how clean I had gotten my sensor.
Tomorrow I will spend doing some test shots and getting the rest of my gear ready for shooting a tournament this weekend.
